Katson merelle, kauas merelle päin, sieltä kuiskeen kuulen,
aallot lyövät, samaa tahtia sydämemme lyövän luulen.

vai kenties rakkauden roihua ja niin kuumaa.
Kuinka tuon polttavan roihun saan sammumaan,
kohtaammeko jossain,
saanko villin ja vapaan sieluni rauhoittumaan enää ollenkaan.

Tähyän, tähyän kauas ulapalle, siellä rakkauteni jossain
katson taivaalle, katson sinne tähtiin, siellä valon nään
tiedän katsovamme samaa kirkkautta, tähtien ja kuutamon alla.
