Relic merchants
In July 2014 (1462 in the game), a third major quest began: ‘The Relic Merchants’.
It ended in December 2017 (1465 in the game).
This quest required excavations at churches in all the villages around the world.
Several unique and special objects could be found and then exchanged with relics dealers wandering throughout the kingdoms.
Fragments of the map could be exchanged for hides, but had no other use...
The most interesting thing was to find a Century egg to exchange with a relics dealer.
The merchant would then reveal a secret. Here is that secret:
Here is the secret... There is another merchant, named Jacky Bay... Whatever you want, you can get it from Jacky.Bay, but alas! He couldn't escape justice and is rotting away in a village prison because he travelled without a pass. I can give you mine. If you just give it to the prison guard it will free Jacky. Believe me, his gratitude is priceless and he knows secrets that could make any company of adventurers that were in his good graces rich! The name of the village where he is jailed? No, you can't ask me that... In this village, a dreadful man will be buried... Yes, I can see it in the future, such a dreadful man. Look at my hand, I have goosebumps... I can give you the 8th letter of this man's name, it's an e. Listen, we can't talk about it any more or I won't be able to sleep all night. Say hi to Jacky for me when you see him!
Every day, the relic dealer gave us a different letter, and in the end we had the letters V-L-A-D-T-E-P-E-S, in other words ‘Vlad Tepes’.
And so he also offered a pass for Jacky.
After a quick search on the internet, we discovered that Vlad Tepes (also known as Vlad the Impaler) was buried in the Monastery of Snagov.

We then had to go to the village Snagov to meet dear Jacky Bay (we had to have a pass for Jacky) and free him.
Amazing how much good some fresh air can do for you, you know! Blessed be the one who has allowed me to get out of jail, that was a true gift! I was starting to get rusty in that vermin-infested cell! Alright, let's say no more about it, it's an occupational hazard! Let's get back to business as fast as possible, selling and bartering, bartering and selling... By the way, if in your circle of acquaintances you have a Company of brave adventurers, tell them that I'm willing to let them know a secret: how to get from here to the encampment of a rich and powerful prince who rarely has guests... If only you knew how rich he is! But for this secret, I want you to bring me a [[Thousand year egg]]!
Once freed, the latter could exchange one final secret for a Thousand year egg (which had to be found beforehand during the excavations).
This secret revealed the route to follow to reach the Camp of the Khan.
Five people succeeded: Ixia, followed by Eleanore_de_Aragon, then Lady-Maryjane, and only the following year, Labienus and Azharr.
To get to the great Khan's encampment, leave the village and cross through this bush, so thorny it would make a hedgehog green with envy. You will soon see an abandoned path and in the distance a crooked oak tree; when you hear a crow cry three times, go to the left at the intersection... or the right... Follow your instincts but remember: the great Khan will not accept any disrespect. His cannon has a short fuse, as one might say... and he knows how to make use of a sword too. Have a good trip, friend, and remember: you are the only one who knows the right way but your friends can follow you if you form a group.
At the Camp of the Khan is a market that allows to buy weapons and other much rarer items:
There is also a campfire, ‘The Prancing Pony’, where one can buy pints of beer for 1.00 pounds, a loaf of bread for 7.00 pounds and a combo meal of a loaf of bread and a bag of corn for 10.00 pounds.
This is also where a formidable army was stationed, and it was possible to talk to its leader, the Great Khan, or his shaman. After talking with them the Great Khan threatened to kill anyone who returned, so anyone could challenge him to fight his army, knowing that if they didn't decimate it in a single battle, all his soldiers would heal overnight...
Once the Great Khan was defeated (by the armies led by Labienus and Azharr), the Camp of the Khan was pillaged (three times) by the first companies to arrive (10,000 pounds, then 7,000 and finally 5,000, but also one copy of the book Arabic copy of the Poliorcetics of Aeneas the Tactician each time).
And all members of the two victorious armies each received:
- a memory "Vanquisher of the Great Khan" - Have participated in the great battle that, on the 23rd of December, 1465, to the east of Snagov, saw the defeat of the Great Khan and his army of Mongolian brigands by the Sic Transit Gloria Mundi army of General Azharr and the Croqueskhan army of General Labienus.
- in the character sheet a title "Veteran of the Battle of the Great Khan".
- 1 Seleucid Swordman Pack
- 1 Questembert graveyard background
- 30 loaves of bread
- option to resell extra ploughshares a person held except 1 for 500 pounds
- 1 Arabic copy of the Poliorcetics of Aeneas the Tactician to each leader of the 2 victorious armies
Note:
- The road to the Camp of the Khan can be accessed by everyone without the need for a Thousand year egg.
- Besides the famous campfire "The Prancing Pony" all characters can now open a campfire if they want to.
