Contents
Access to the pig field
A field is accessible via:
- the App:
- Village > Places > My house > My properties > Pig Field
- the Web:
- My properties > Pig Field
- Town > My home > My properties > Pig Field
Work in the pig field
Your character can:
- in their own field:
- in another character's field:
- work by responding to a job offer
- work by responding to a job offer
Working on the field takes 22 hours or 100 APs (). It is impossible to work elsewhere at the same time.
The harvest is available in the property's inventory on the next day (3:00 GMT), whether the work in the field is finished or not.
Note :
- Your character must have the "Agricultural Employer" skill unlocked to recruit workers in the field.
- The "Demanding Employer" skill will allow for setting a minimum characteristic when hiring workers.
Pig field cycle
Get animals
- It is possible to buy 1, 2, 3 or 4 pigs at a time. In order to kill them one by one, it is advisable to buy them every two or three days each.
- The price of a pig is 25 pounds ()
- The sheriff is responsible of managing the animals in his office so farmers can buy them for their field.
Animal feeding
- Animals must be fed daily with one of the following:
- Grass from the field (free but only 5 out of 18 chances of gaining weight in a day)
- One bag of corn per pig (more expensive, but pigs may gain weight faster: 5 out of 9 chances of gaining weight in a day)
Slaughter of animals
- You can only kill one pig per day
- To slaughter a pig you must have a knife in your property's inventory.
- You can slaughter a pig yourself or hire a worker. The characteristics of the pig slaughterer don’t influence the production.
- When a pig grows old (12 days is a good age because it is the average life expectancy, TBC), it would be better to be slaughtered because there is a high risk of dying.
- If a pig reaches the American Style stage, he's at his peak, producing 8 Half-cwt of pork. However, he can still grow, but his stage name will remain the same. So you can wait until he's older enough to have more than 8 Half-cwt of pork, if you want.
Recommendation
- If you have to retreat your character, you must know that your animals will no longer be fed. Pigs can only be fed if the village mayor has activated this feature.
Growth
More a pig gets fat, more it produces half-cwt of pork:
- Dying: 0
- Bony: 1
- Skinny: 2
- Normal: 3
- Fleshy: 4
- Plump: 5
- Fat: 6
- Obese: 7
- American style: 8
Remember that the yield for the second field is reduced by 15%.
Life expectancy
Pigs have a probability to die depending of their age:
- 10 days : 2%
- 11 days : 3%
- 12 days : 15%
- 13 days : 22%
- 14 days : 25%
- 15 days : 30%
- more than 15 days : 35%
It's up to you to slaughter them when you see fit.
