Scholastic skill
From Official Wiki of the Renaissance Kingdoms
Scholastic skills are acquired at the university (accessible at the village Bailiwick) in several ways:
- Attending lessons
- Choosing to improve one of your skills
- Choosing to work in one of your skill fields
- Choosing to look for new ideas
Usefulness of scholastic skills
It is used for different things depending on the character's chosen Way:
- State way: providing state points to a county or town hall by answering a job offer as a civil servant
- Army way: provide army points to an army (as a minor path of state way, the latter can also provide army points, but only in answer to a job offer)
- Chuch way: earn divine truth points, become a confessor
- Science way: earn medicine points
However, some skills do not correspond to any way:
- Seafaring: used to improve the efficiency of navigation or naval combat on board a ship when you are a ship captain
- Stonemasonry: is used to work as a labourer for job offers concerning:
Having 100% knowledge in a skill is also used for teaching at the university (except languages which can be taught from 1%, although the teacher's % affects the student outcome). You do not need to be the corresponding Way to study or teach a skill, however, your Way will affect whether you can use some skills for other purposes.
Having 100% knowledge provides 125 luxury points (once and for all, and even if the character is not yet at level 250 these points count).
