Planning and preparing Masses
Here the priest can:
- prepare for the next mass (this will take 1 loaf of bread and 1 jug of wine from the church treasury, which is enough for both masses of a day)
- change the time of the masses on Sundays
- change the day and time of the second masses of the week
To prepare the mass simply click on the button "prepare for the mass". The button will vanish and the text "Everything is ready for the next mass" is displayed:
Preparing for the next mass is possible on the first day after the last mass until 1 minute before the next mass ends. For example, if the next mass is scheduled for Wednesday, 10 A.M., it is possible to prepare for it from Monday until Wednesday, 11:59 A.M. - but all parishioners who try to listen to the mass will get the information that the priest did not prepare the mass until he does so, so best advice is to prepare for the mass before it is scheduled to start. If the priest is too late to prepare the mass before the end of the 1st mass of the day he also cannot prepare for the 2nd mass of the day.
For characters attending the mass there are 2 possibilities when clicking on "Listen to the mass":
- the mass was not prepared, a pop-up will display the message:
- "The priest has been twiddling his thumbs ! He hasn't prepared the mass !"
- the mass was prepared:
Note:
- The sentence "(changes will be taken into account after the next mass)" refers to the next second mass of the week, not the Sunday mass.
- If the church treasury runs out of loaves of bread and jugs of wine an automatic message "Okay, on with it!" appears. Both ingredients must be requested and will be refilled with 20 items. It is free of charge.
- The priest has to prepare the mass
Purchases
Currently the office only allows to check the church treasury. Clicking on the button "Change" serves no purpose, nothing happens. The option to buy loaves of bread and jugs of wine is available in the menu "Masses" as soon as the church runs out of them.
Change the message
The parish priest can leave a message that will be displayed for parishioners to see when visiting the church of the town.
Big Brother is watching them
This office allows the priest to see who attended Mass and who gave to the collection. The priest is automatically listed as having attended Mass. This list is visible as soon as a character attends Mass and is reset at midnight French time (not at the morning update at 4:00 a.m.).
Resign
Please aware - this action is irreversible. One click and your character will resign from their position as priest. After resigning, the priest's message will disappear instantly and be replaced by: ‘This parish currently has no priest.’ However, it will remain in the priest's office. Once the resignation has been made, the population receives this event:
- xx:xx Your priest [character name] has resigned from his position. A new election will take place starting tomorrow.
Note: The resignation automatically cancels future masses, even if they have been prepared.
Publication of banns
This office allows the priest to:
- see scheduled weddings between characters
- may validate weddings that took place within the last 30 days (the validation is visible in the character sheets of the groom and the bride as "the marriage was blessed by [name of priest]"
Donate to the diocese
The priest can donate:
- between 1 and 150 pounds (max) to the diocese
- every day between 0:00 A.M. and 11:59 P.M. (not starting from / ending at reset time)
Note:
- Contact the bishop and ask if the diocese needs any money or if it is better to keep it save at the parish church before donating. The church treasury of the parish church cannot be robbed.
Confessions
The office allows the priest to:
- see the names of the characters who did confess within the last two months and paid 10 pounds for it
- assign 2 confessors - they must have chosen the Major way of Church to be assigned
The priest / the confessors do not need to be present ingame for a successful confession, only to be in town.
Note:
- The price of confessions cannot be changed, it is always 10 pounds.
- The list only shows for each character confessing 1 entry with the latest time and date of confession, not a history of all confessions made within the last 2 months per character.
- In case a character appointed as a confessor changes his/her name the priest needs to manually update the entry in the priest's office. It is not changed automatically.
